You need a digital camera capable of recording at least 6 minutes of video footage.
We accept CD’s DVD’s, mini discs, memory cards and memory sticks/ pen drives etc (but PLEASE include a stamped addressed envelope for them returning)
We accept most video formats.
You need access to a computer- you need to be able to transfer your video to disc or pen drive if you are not submitting it to Interdressage on your memory card.
You can upload your video to You Tube and email us with the link BUT you may need to compress your file first – we can recommend some good programmes for doing this. Email for more details.

What happens if I do not know how to prepare the video for use on the web site?

We accept DVD'S as well as CD'S. Just copy your video to disc and post it to us. You can also now upload your video file to You Tube and email us your link. if you need advice on compressing your file to below 100mb email stevie@interdressage.com for more advice or see the links on the home page.

Any tips on getting a good video?

Always film with your back to the sun.
Make sure you keep the camera steady and try and keep the horse in the centre of the frame
Try not to film when there is a sharp contrast in light and dark areas in the arena.
Use the highest quality setting on your camera.
Set the zoom before you start and do not alter it once you have started filming.
Make sure the light setting is correct for the time of day you are filming at.
Stand at C either with your back to C or behind C facing A and do not move from that spot.
Make sure you video from the start of the test as they turn onto the centre line and keep videoing until after the final halt so we can see some walk work as they leave the arena. (Just half a dozen steps or so).
Film with the sound turned off if this is an option on the equipment you are using. This helps to keep the file size down.
