Virtual internationals

Postby spierian on Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:19 pm

This is a great use of the internet. Who would ever have thought that a rider like me could compete against riders from other countries? Interdessage deserves to be a HUGE success.

At least I can compete now - I'm very limited to what I can compete in here - Locally anyway! Showing (ridden and inhand) doesn't really exist here, and unless you're in the pony club (I'm WAY old for that!) there's not much in the way of riding club competitions! I have my Ifor trailer here and wander around to some local events, but my trailer isn't 'exactly' legal here ;) - there's £1,500 of bureaucracy to get it 'Hungarian regsitered' - But I get away with it locally as the local cops know me and don't seem to understand my English papers anyway!!! As long as I'm still a 'Brit' I'll keep dragging my ifor trailer about!!! But as you mentioned, Interdressage is SO MUCH GREENER!!!

I don't think we'll have a 'Team Hungary' in the international event - I'm 2 riders short!!!!! Damn! There are some local guys who could do the tests, but the cost is too much for them - Imagine having to spend a day's wages on either entering a dressage test or feeding your family! Hence they are not really interested!

And most of them ride Western!! Nothing against Western.... But their horses don't understand 'contact' and 'Snaffle Bits'!!!

Saying that, all going to plan, I'll be riding in my Western saddle this month... It's either that or my Bareback Patrac Pad, and the way my mare bronco-hoolied today, I'm happier in the Western saddle!!! My hips are about too far gone at the moment for a GP or dressage saddle!

And I'm LOVING this forum!!!!! :D

I think inter dressage is fantastic. Though I haven't yet competed. I was going to do abit of competing with inter dressage and trec but I can't afford the costs of hiring transport, petrol, entry fees etc, So you all will be seeing me in the coming months competing my little white horse :D Thankyou inter dressage for letting people like me get competeing and meeting loads of like minded people from all over the world.

Likewise!
I thought my chances of competing were long past-having no transport and a very green horse ! I was delighted to find Interdressage, and the opportunity to progress with sound advice from crit sheets. Interdressage deserves resounding sucess. Environmentally sound competing, and learning as we go! :D

I could not agree more. Inter Dressage is a fantastic way of competing. I am over the moon as I have had a hard time with my horse Gerry. Schooling him has been such a challenge. We had our first attempt at Inter Dressage this month and got a rosette. Would never be able to compete without Inter Dressage as horse so green and so expensive to hire transport. Karina and the team give excellent advice and it encourages everyone to have a go.
