About Us

Who runs Interdressage?

Karina Hawkridge.

Karina has ridden and competed since a child and has run her own professional schooling and rehabilitation livery yard alongside her husband, Stephen, since 1987. She is a fully qualified, full time Equine Physiotherapist and human massage therapist and also coaches private clients where she focuses on rider and horse bio-mechanics, kinematics, balance and symmetry.

Karina has competed successfully in BSJA jumping classes, dressage, showing and side saddle classes as well as experiencing the thrill of team chasing and hunting! She is a true ‘all round’ horse-person!

Karina recognises the need to establish correct flat work before success can be achieved in any equestrian discipline-be it dressage, show jumping, eventing, pleasure rides or hacking. A correctly schooled horse is not only a pleasure to ride but is also more physically able to carry out the work asked of him and it is her knowledge of ‘getting the best’ out of every horse that Karina would like to share with you!

Interdressage was launched in 2007 by Equine Physiotherapist and Freelance Riding Coach, Karina Hawkridge and British Dressage judge and Equestrian Artist, Glynis Mills. It is the original online dressage and showing competition website.

Interdressage is open to anyone, anywhere and is enjoyed by riders worldwide.

All standards of riders are catered for and there is a wide variety of dressage, showing and Baroque style classes to choose from every month.

This innovative format makes it possible for anyone, anywhere to compete from the convenience and familiarity of their own arena, online, via video in monthly competitions.

Glynis Mills

Glynis has ridden and competed since childhood, although now she has retired from riding and devotes her time to judging and her artwork.

Being small in stature Glynis has ridden and competed  ponies which she always produced herself. Glynis was instrumental in having the B.D ruling changed allowing adults to compete on ponies!

Glynis has successfully competed up to advanced level dressage and has trained with some of the top riders; Richard Davison, Jane Bartle-Wilson, Stephen Clarke, Paul Hayler, to name but a few! She has also considerable showing experience -‘in hand’ and ‘ridden’- with an enthusiastic interest in all our native breeds.

Glynis is a BD list 6 judge and because of her positive and encouraging comments and excellent eye for detail, she is always in demand to judge. This is why she has been such ‘a hit’ with ‘Interdressage’ competitors!

Trudi Dempsey.

We are very lucky to have Trudi Dempsey on our Interdressage Team. Trudi introduced Interdressage to the world of Baroque and has written and judges all our Baroque classes.

Trudi has been a classical dressage coach since 1998 and she trains her own Spanish horses using Baroque Classical methods. Trudi is also a qualified Equine Behaviourist and she has a special interest in positive reinforcement and bitless riding.
